2019 Elections – Voter Registration Campaign

In its recent judgment in Kham and Others v Electoral Commission and Another, the Court also declared that, in future, when registering a voter to vote in a particular voting district, the Independent Electoral Commission (the IEC) is obliged to obtain sufficient particularity of the voter’s address to enable it to ensure that the voter is at the time of registration ordinarily resident in that voting district.

  • Are you registered to vote in Ward 48?
  • Do you know at which voting station you are registered to vote? There are eight voting stations in Ward 48: Hennopsrivier Primary School, Tent – Laezonia Emergency Station, Fern Gully Nursery School, Tshwaranang Day Care, Tent – Mnandi Spar, Heuweloord Community Test Centre, Tent – Cnr Lenchen & Capensis & Tent – 114 Crech Mission. • Has your address details been captured by the IEC? If not bring along proof of residence (e.g. an utility bill). Unless your address details have been verified you will be unable to vote.
